Ten things I have learned from doing Family History Work:

1.      It is easy to say you’re a descendant from Adam, but it’s another thing to prove it!
2.      All families have secrets, because all families are made up of people “learning” to live life!
3.      People did the same things a hundred years ago that they do today: fall in love, work and die.
4.      Not all pain is buried in the cemetery.
5.      Guardian angels are really our ancestors who love and protect us.
6.      Some of the most brave and strong people were never mentioned on the front page of a newspaper.
7.      Be careful what you say about someone; it just may get passed from generation to generation!
8.      Everyone wants to be related to royalty, but loyalty is seeing all your ancestors as royalty.
9.      Forgiveness is healing throughout all generations.
10.   Just because the paid employee behind the desk “has never” or does “not know how”, doesn’t mean it cannot be done; kind persistence makes them feel smart!
