Organizing and Preserving Your Research

I 💕 this quote from Family Tree Magazine!

So much work in writing and publishing a book, but so worth the effort and the experience.

No one r-e-a-l-l-y understands how much research you have done or how much you have learned about your family, until you put it in a format your family can relate to.  You do not understand how much you do not know, until you try to write a book!

Writing a book comes with long days and longer nights.  Much caffeine and little interaction with the rest of the world.  No housework, no laundry, no relaxing, no eating only snacking, and living a secular life with only one focus. . .the B.O.O.K.

Publishing a book comes with its own headaches, editing, misspelling (even simple words) checking sources, citing properly  ALL sources, learning to print, creating an index, editing and watermarking  photographs.

So much learning.

So much growth.

So much experience.

In the end I have found great joy and happiness at being able to memorialize our ancestors and marking "Where Our Roots Rest" so each individual may be remembered.
