Walking Where They Walked--Fire Call

"The fire department was called out in the middle of the night, Wednesday night, to extinguish the fire in an outbuilding on No. 1 Hill.  The thermometer was hovering around the 10 below zero mark and the run was an exceedingly unpleasant one.  The water plug on the hill was frozen and it was necessary to go after the chemical engine, which also refused to work.  The fire was finally extinguished by a small hose attached to the water pipe in a nearby residence"
