The Hugh (1) & Margaret (2) Roberts family first settle in Hanley, Staffordshire, England about 1858, and most of the family left Staffordshire in 1886 and came to the United States.   Source   Staffordshire Staffordshire is a landlocked county in the West Midlands region of England.   According to Genuki:   “It is divided into 5 hundreds, which contain 1 city, 21 towns, 181 parishes, and 670 villages.”(1) Wiki describes Staffordshire in this way:   In the north and in the south the county is hilly, with wild moorlands in the far north and Cannock Chase an area of natural beauty in the south.
